¶ Vehicle ADAS Installation Guide
This guide is an instruction set on how to install the HAWK dashcam with an ADAS Hookup for CAN Data.
¶ prerequisites:
- Only follow this section of the install guide if you have received an ADAS cable.
- The OBD port cable has been installed and the cable has been routed to the window. Step 3 of general installation guide.
- The HAWK dashcam has been mounted onto the windsheild in the correct placment, or is ready to be mounted. (Adhesive mount is installed)
- The vehicle is turned OFF.These prerequisites will be met if you follow the general installation guide until Section 3.3

HAWK Dashcam Installation Guide
¶ 1. Take the HAWK Power Cable that was routed along the top of the window and connect it to the ADAS Cable's 6 pin.
Make sure there is enough cable to reach the center of the window area where the ADAS is located.
¶ 2. Connect the other end of the ADAS Cable's 6 pin connector into the HAWK Dashcam's cable.
¶ 3. Locate the ADAS system cover found behind the rear view mirror.
NOTE
Not all vehicles have the same ADAS plastic cover and housing. The steps below are generalized for most common vehicles, consisting of 2 plastic parts that wrap around the rear view mirror. If you require aditional resources to remove your ADAS cover and housing, please look outside of Foresight's knowledge base.
¶ 3. First remove the support plastic that will allow the rest of the housing to come off. For this vehicle, pry the bottom piece open and slide the housing to the side.
¶ 4. Remove the main ADAS housing cover. Use a tool to pry down the top clips of the cover.
¶ 5. Slide up (towards vehicle roof) to disengage the plastic cover and navigate the plastic housing around the rearview mirror to take it completely off.
¶ 6. Locate the ADAS camera system.
If the ADAS is in an inaccessible location you may need to removie it from its mount to access the cable. To remove it, angle the side with the connector down to unlatch it, then slide it out of its holder.
¶ If the vehicle has a latch system, use a tool to lift the latch, then slide down and remove the ADAS Camera system.
¶ 7. Remove the vehicle cable entering the ADAS camera system.
¶ 9. Connect the Foresight ADAS cable.
WARNING
Different vehicles use different ADAS connectors. Please make sure you have the correct cable for the vehicle you are installing. If the cable you were provided does not match the connector of your ADAS system, it will not plug in, do not force any connections to avoid any damage to the vehicle.
NOTE
Your Foresight ADAS Cable may look different from the one shown in this guide. All Foresight ADAS Cable do however share the same 4 connection points with vehicle specific versions for item 3 and 4 in the picture below.The four connections points of the cable are standard and are outlined below:
¶ Plug the male connector coming from the car into the Foresight ADAS Cable female housing (the cable that was removed from the ADAS system).
¶ Plug the male end of the Foresight ADAS Cable cable into the ADAS camera system.
¶ Ensure all connectors have be properly connected.
¶ 10. Slide the ADAS camera system back into its holder and rock it back up to its locked position.
¶ 11. Tuck the HAWK Power Cable behind the roof and ADAS panel area.
¶ 12. Tuck the HCCH-01 cable in the ADAS area that will be enclosed by the plastic covers.
¶ 13. Close the main cover in the reverse steps it was taken off. Be careful to not pinch any wires. Clost the main top housing cover, there will be a click when it is fully locked into place.
¶ 14. Ensure the HAWK Dashcam's cable is being routed into the ADAS housing area neatly before closing the cover.
¶ 15. Close the bottom cover in the reverse steps it was taken off. Be careful to not pinch any wires. You will hear a click when it is fully locked into place.
¶ 16. Continue to complete the remainder of the installation.
