¶ HAWK Dash Camera Uninstall and Replacement Guide
Please follow this instruction set to remove or replace your HAWK Dash Camera.
¶ Section 1: Remove the Existing Device.
In this section, the images demonstrate the removal of the HAWK 2.0 Dash Camera. If you are Uninstalling a HAWK 2.5 Dash Camera the Device has a different appearnce, however the instructions are the same.
¶ 1.1 Locate the two spring loaded fingers on each side of the HAWK near the base of the device. Press both fingers on each side then slide up on the HAWK along the windshield mount until it slides free.
¶ 1.2 Unplug the HAWK Dash Camera Cable from the HAWK Power Cable.
¶ Are You Replacing or Uninstalling an Existing Device?
If you are replacing your device with the same version of the HAWK Dash Camera, please follow the HAWK Installation Guide from Section 3.0.
If you are replacing your device with a new version of the HAWK Dash Camera:
Remove the bottom piece of the windshield mount.
Remove and clean any residue left from the bottom winshield piece's adhesive.
You are now ready to install the new HAWK Dashcamera. Please follow the HAWK Installation Guide from Section 3.0.
If you are uninstalling an existing Device, please continue to follow the steps below in this guide.
¶ Section 2: Remove Windsheild Mount.
¶ 2.1 Remove the bottom piece of the Windshield mount.
¶ 2.2 Remove the top piece of the Windshield mount.
¶ 2.3 Remove and clean any residue left behind from the adhesive mount.
¶ Section 3: Remove the Cables.
¶ 3.1 Remove the HAWK Dash Camera Power Cable that was routed along the top of the vehicle window.
¶ 3.2 Remove the weather stipping of your vehicle all the way up the height of the driver side door.
¶ 3.2 Pry Open the A-Pillar to remove the routed cable that passes through into the weather stripping.
¶ 3.3 Remove the cable that is routed through the A-Pillar.
¶ 3.4 Remove the cable that runs along the trim of the vehicle where the weather stipping was removed.
¶ 3.5 Unplug the HAWK Power Cable from the HAWK OBD2 Connector.
¶ 3.6 Unplug the HAWK OBD2 Connector from the Vehicle.
¶ Section 4: Car Re-Assembly
¶ 4.1 Place the weather stripping back on the car.
¶ 4.2 Clip the A-pillar trim back onto the car A-pillar.
